Our bedroom

I’d like to share a few photos of our bedroom with you guys this morning. The room isn’t very big and since we have a king bed, I feel like ’bed’ is all there is room for. I shouldn’t be complaining though, because the double closets are a huge upgrade from our last house.

I’m still looking for a little bench to go at the foot of the bed and maybe different side tables if I come across the right ones. For now, though, I’m really enjoying how it’s turning out so far. This room has the biggest splash of color than any other rooms in the house and I like how spring-ish it feels. In a few months (or weeks, even), I’m sure it’ll look different.

Here’s the ‘before’ picture:

Lamps, mirrors, pillows - TJ Maxx

Side tables, curtains – Ross

Dresser – the first piece of secondhand furniture we bought and refinished together for our nursery when I was pregnant with our first baby.

Chandelier – an ugly $7.00 D. I. find that was originally that tacky 1990s brass that I spray painted white (score, right?!)

Bedding – mix and match random online purchases thrown together.

The floral part of our bedding is actually just three yards of fabric from Home Fabrics in Boise that I draped across the bed. Truth be told, it’s not even hemmed because that’s how I roll. (HATE SEWING, I DO.) Eventually, I’ll beg my mom to sew some pillow slip covers and we’ll use the fabric for that project.

  1. Beautiful. Im obsessed with all you have done, makes me want to sell my house and start over!!

  2. It is so beautiful. I am in the midst of re-arranging my bedroom and have to ask, where do you put all your stuff??? alarm clocks, books, jewlrey box, lotion, etc.

    • Hi wendy – our early-bird littles are our alarm clock, I guess. Otherwise, we use our phones : ) I keep my books under my bed or on the shelf in the closet and I bought a gorgeous jewelry box from TJ Maxx that usually sets on the dresser or on the bathroom counter. I make it a point to get rid of things we don’t use. I’m an impulsive de-junker. We’re always hauling things off to D. I. if we don’t use them regularly. I find it’s easier to keep things clean that way. : )

  3. You are seriously talented, girl! I bet you love snuggling up under those cozy blankets in that fabulous room!
