So, today I’d like to share some pictures of our dining room. Ideally, I wish this little room was a tad bigger, but I’m coming to enjoy how cozy it is. The biggest drawback for me is that there isn’t enough room for a hutch. When I let my beloved black hutch go to a new home last fall, I consoled myself, knowing that I had no plans for black furniture in our new house. I did, however, hang onto my collection of white dishes, which now all belong in the dining room. For now, we’ve hung some inexpensive shelves, but eventually, I’m hoping to come across a little corner hutch to put in the far corner.
The colors for this room (and for the rest of the house, really) are very neutral. I decided I’ll forever be drawn to wood tones, grays and whites. Nice and neutral, or….boring (as some would say). I know! These colors can be a little boring. But I know myself well enough to know that with me, color never sticks around too long. It’s a much better investment for me to stick with a basic color pallete and add some color in accessories with the seasons.
Here’s the ‘before’ shot:
And here’s what it looks like now…
Another ‘before’ photo with that classy wine wallpaper border : )
And ‘now’…

Table and chairs – Craislist find
